alpha - Installation art by Makiko Miyamoto

Alpha represents the origin of life. the center of the work is a projection of an image of a cell. this cell appears in the center tower along with a "pop" sound. the cell grows larger while filling up the tower. soon it starts shrinking until it disappears. the movement is repeated endlessly and has the rhythm of a heartbeat. the cell is a metaphor for the body, moving from birth to death.
