This is my second rendering of the so called Mandelbub fractal object. It was oversampled, but I wanted to ensure the quality was there, so antialiasing and motion blur were pushed more than needed. However there are some artifacts there due to some math inaccuracies.
The rendering was done in regular C, in the CPU. It's multithreaded but not SIMD-ed. Render times were around few seconds per image (sub-frame). The surface detail is adjusted dynamically for every ray to ensure low computation cost and less aliasing.

@CharlesLeLibre - Should be possible to make stereo of this, it would take him twice as long to render, though.

@pathfinderTV1 - I think this is actually raymarching an implicit surface, not voxels... Unless he found a way to store petabytes of voxels.

Polygons is not the future. Voxels is the future for computer graphics!!! :) The resolution will improve quickly with time. The real matrix is here. :D UNLIMITED DETAIL on 3d obejcts.

Somehow looks a lot more accurate than my Mandelbulb implementation... but my ray-marching seems to be significantly faster at least.
Btw., I tried your trancendental-function-substitutions, and they only increase the speed by about 20%-30% or so - but that's of course still useful, so I will probably use them.
