[49] Jersey Boys 2 - Second Chance Summer- JBLS

PREVIOUS CHAPTER...
Nick : Bekah, no. Now you're just making things difficult.
Bekah : Well why don't I simplify them for you. After I go back home this summer, we're done.

DAY SEVEN IN LA
Nick puts his head down. They were silent for a few minutes then Nick shakes his head and looks up at Bekah.

Nick : None of this makes sense. You're breaking up with me for no reason. I didn't tell you ONE thing, big deal.
Bekah : [annoyed] It is a big deal. I don't want a liar for a boyfriend
Nick : You hid the fact that you knew from me! That's lying too!
Bekah : Oh, so now I'm the one who is wrong?!
Nick : Babe, come on. You know that I don't think that. I am just saying that I wish you would have told me
Bekah : Okay
Nick : Don't be like this. I think that you just need some rest and some time to think about that
Bekah : Yeah maybe. Talk to you in the morning then?
Nick : Yeah [forces a fake smile]
Bekah : Goodnight Nick
Nick : Night Bekah

Bekah and Nick both go to their rooms. Bekah is awake for about fifteen minutes. She thinks for a little bit about her and Nick's relationship. She comes to a conclusion, then quickly falls asleep.

Nick went upstairs and laid in his bed. He couldn't stop thinking about losing Bekah. He couldn't imagine not being with her. He hoped that Bekah wasn't serious about breaking up. The thought of it didn't allow him to sleep. He lied awake all night. He finally fell asleep at seven in the morning, but was woken up by Joe at nine.

DAY EIGHT IN LA
Joe [shaking Nick and singing] : Mom bought us donuts, d-d-d-d-donuts are in 'da' Hizzzz-OUSE!
Nick : Get out
Joe : Did you not hear me? [singing/rapping again] Come downstairs and eat a donut, they're so yummy, yo yo yo , they're good in my T-U-M-M-Y spells tummy!
Nick : [angered] Okay, I'm getting up.
Joe : [in a serious voice] The donuts will be waiting for you.

Joe leaves Nick's room and goes back downstairs. Kevin has already eaten with Frankie so they're now watching TV. Hannah, Joe, and Bekah are just at the table eating. Nick comes down a few minutes later.

Joe : [talking with his mouth full] It's about time!

Nick ignores Joe and sits down. When he sits down he looks at Bekah and she was looking at him too. She quickly looks down.

Nick and Bekah both continue to eat breakfast without looking talking to each other. They had to occasional glance at each other, but nothing more.

Joe finished his breakfast fast and looked at Hannah. He was giving her a really weird look.

Hannah : What?
Joe : Are you thinking, what I'm thinking? [winks]
Hannah : [smiles] I think I am! Meet you here in three minutes?
Joe : Ohh yeah!

Hannah and Joe both run out of the kitchen and to their rooms. Bekah and Nick look at each other and laugh.

Bekah : I wonder what they're doing
Nick : Who knows?
Bekah : You ready to talk?
Nick : I think so
Bekah : Want to go outside?
Nick : Sure

Nick and Bekah both go outside and sit on the front porch.

Nick : So, what did you decide?
Bekah : Promise you won't be upset?
Nick : Well I can't promise, but please tell me
Bekah : [sighs] Okay, well last night I was thinking about our relationship
Nick : Ok.....and?
Bekah : Well as you know-

The front door swings open and Hannah and Joe come running out. They're both wearing athletic shorts, t-shirts, tennis shoes and a big headbands. They run down the driveway and to the sidewalk.

Nick : [laughs] I guess they are going for a jog
Bekah : [laughs] Yeah...I thought that they were going to do something else!
Nick : Yeah, ...anyway. You were saying
Bekah : Well okay, you're Nick Jonas
Nick : I know [laughs]
Bekah : Well it's not going to be long before you find somebody better anyway. You know I just feel like I'm your girl until you find something better
Nick : Baby, you know it's not like that at all
Bekah : Nick, I see you for like three months out of the year. You're going to find a girl that you can see more often and somebody that you can--
Nick : I don't want to though. Why can't you understand that I just want you. I don't want to break up
Bekah : I just think that it's bound to happen sometime
Nick : You're just being pessimistic. If you want me to come visit you more often I can
Bekah : Nick, no. I just think that we need to take a break from each other
Nick : Why? We only have two weeks left together, why would we take a break?
Bekah : So you can see that we don't need each other
Nick : Oh
Bekah : Well is that okay with you?
Nick : Yeah, sure, whatever. It's not going to work though.

Nick gets up and starts to walk inside

Bekah : Well Nick I mean if you think that-
Nick : I'll talk to you in a week.

Nick walks inside and leaves Bekah out on the porch.
