This type of setup is common to see in some states of the U.S. As I know of, there are a couple of these that can be found in Long Island, New York. I have seen pictures of this setup. However, I have never seen this setup in person. Would love to, though.

The real reason the LED flickers is because it basically multiplexes rapidly. It will only carry the positive current (if in the way it's supposed to be, negative otherwise) and on an AC grid at 50hz, the LED will light at 25 hz.

I have seen quite a few bimodual green/yellow arrows in my city. We used to have a fiber-optic one at one intersection, but when they upgraded most of the traffic lights it was replaced with an LED version made by GE

Its made by Dialight. I bought it on ebay. there used to be one on there every once an a while. but I have not seen one in a long time.

Traffic signals are required to have at least three lenses.

I only have 2 now, I sold one that needed new transformers. One of them I got either from twin green or scott signal. the other from ebay years back.
