Volunteer HS has been the favorite WG in the Southeast. They are one of the best around and put on one heck of a show. They are form Church Hill, Tennessee. Hope you enjoy!

True guard..all the way. With the brusies to prove it. And as for the Operation Winterguard:Doctor Doctor show, you're looking at the one to get it for you! My Mom was over the band boosters then. I'll see if I can't round up the video!

I doubt that...members of the guard don't just hand anyone their rifle, and no one is allowed to mess with their equipment. It all goes back into their bags as soon as they are off the floor. And the instructor who's name you do not mention so you obviously didn't speak to him, would have told you they are real.

My sister is in this guard, and I was in the instructor's guard in my day as well, and I can verify those rifle's are REAL 10 POUND WOOD RIFLES. Those are real 8's and 10's they are pulling off. They don't even make plastic equipment anymore...that's just plain cheating. You can't launch an unweighted plastic thing in the air like that anyways, they'd spin out of control. The only thing you feel that's 'plastic' in the VINYL tape on the outside.

As a member of the guard, I can safely assure you the those rifles are real wood! So yes, be impressed be very impressed with the tosses! We all do rifle because we are good like that not because we spin "plastic" rifles! Try checking your sources next time!

It is a very nice show! But don't be impressed with the tosses... Those are not real wood rifles... They're in plastic. So yeah it's a 7 or an 8, but it only takes the strenght of a 4 or a 5 because it spins on itself. No wonder why the entire guard is on rifle at one point. But again great showmanship.
