This is my 1971 El Camino after my engine swap. I this motor from a 350 from a 1976 Corvette and I put on a 3.75" stroke crank and bored it .030 over to make it a 383 stroker. I put on a Comp Cams Xtreme Energy XE268H cam, high energy pushrods, roller rockers with a 1.6:1 ratio and dual valve springs w/new retainers, locks, and valve stem seals. The cam with the higher ratio rockers is .508" lift intake and .510" lift ex. And open headers for now :).

  • This car is a fucking joke. I hope you sold it to someone who knew what they are doing. If my el camino engine sounded as shitty as that id try and say it was because the "cam" also. You should look into getting a civic, seems like more of your style.

  • @wisechris come to long island ny n lock up a race...i built the entire car myself. Thats more than you could ever wish to do. Ill race u with any of my cars...i got a mint 69 gto in my garage in the vid that i restored and built myself also. So quit running ur mouth unless u wanna talk shit in person.   • i call bull shit on the 11.5s bud. especially with that lil dinky single feed holley and stock suspension. anyone can say they run 11.5's on here.

  • I'm not here to talk shit, but it's def. not stock suspension in the vid and the holley is long gone by now. The video is over 2 years old. I said when it runs FASTER than 11.5 all motor. Which translates to maybe it can try to keep up.

  • @wisechris first of all who really cares about proper grammar second why bag on someone vid your big and mighty 454 takes a year and a half to get up in rpm just to back chambeers up ill race you keep in mind i "only have a 427" with ported and polished heads 740 lift intake 732 exhuast 12.5-1 compression twin 750 carbs that run e85 with 1.7 roller rockers roller lifters tunnel ram intake gear drive timing set runnin 900 hp so before you start talking think about all the real car guys that care

  • question for you why did you get new retainers and keepers you didnt need to the factory springs, keepers and retainers are good to 600 lift?

  • @chambeers I do not know what kind of strokers you build but they should NOT sound like that. But, good try trying to justify the poorly build engine. I was simply stating the fast about how your engine is just a pile of melting getting ready to crater. Trust me, if i were anywhere near long island i would definitely meet you on the drag strip with my el camino and let my 454 walk all over your "stroker". If you feel the need to reply to this comment also will you please use proper grammar. :)
