What you are watching is an element of a project for Black History Month.
Imagine a black man giving an eyewitness account of a lynching he saw, a framed picture of Billie Holiday.
A Gardenia in front of the picture.
After the man speaks the song begins. (Note: the 10sec leader was used for cueing the video & is not part of presentation)
Billie Holiday was a junkie, the presentation was given by recovering drug addicts on a San Francisco Rehab program.

how many people are just watching.their silence is just as abnormal as tying the rope.and they continued living,probably respected citizens.i've never killed a spider,i carry them out of the house,but oh,if only i was there!with a gun!!capital punishment would be a nice thing in some cases..

old..they brought kids to see that!and it all happened so recently.i can't begin to understand. billie is stunning.sends shivers down my spine every time.love her endlessly!

I love this song she was so brave. She was a Black Woman who sang this song in the 1940s.

i apologize as it was not my intent to diminish Billie H. but to post video shown while presenting a project on lynching. Billie was picked because Strange Fruit was first sung by her ...it was later pointed out to me by another client that she had used drugs
