Deborah Diana: 'Women of Iron' documentary

From a mid-1980's film on female bodybuilding by director Scott JT Frank [www.epiphanypictures.com]. An excerpt of my all-time favorite early woman bodybuilder, Deborah Diana, describing her attitude towards posing & her routine at the 1981 Ms USA contest.
This is a tribute to Deborah & an attempt to publicize 'Women of Iron.' This compelling & well-made film succeeds in exactly the areas where 'Pumping Iron II' came-up short. It's a no-BS look at the early days of the sport, focusing on the aspirations of Carla Dunlap and Deborah Diana.

women of the 80s' bodybuilding looked lean with great definition and not big and bulky like men, very hot and feminine and sexy. Her mid-section is to die for. Her posing was phenonminal and sexy.

She got ripped off at this contest...a prime example of how the rotten judging women have ahd to suffer discouraged women with fantastic physiques from competing!!! (She was so hot!)

I was only a year old when this took place and I've lived in N.J. my whole life so far (I'm 31) I never knew this happened back then and that's why I'd like to get a copy of this myself, if possible...if there's enough demand for it, then it should be re-released ! I liked her opening comment which simplifies the desire to get into bodybuilding...it I guess it still holds true to this day for men/women...why over-analyze it ? I also think this is good history as A-City is still an E-coast mecca

That's funny woman competing in males sports like for boxing, wrestling and BODYBUILDING. Woman should compete in Netball but not in male dominated sports like for bodybuilding.

How did we as women get from women like Deborah Diana, Cory Everson, and Carla Dunlap to waifs and slobs (like me!)? What happened? These women look fabulous and feminine. Makes me wanna grab some weights and start pumping iron.
