  • I'm glad you enjoyed it. The park has many wonderful organs. I'll have to be sure to videotape more next time I'm there.

  • gotta LOOVE knoebels carousel organs!!!!!!!! they are all antiques!!!!! GREAT ORGAN VIDEO!!!!!!!!!!

  • Loose cymbal

  • @KawhackitaRag It is posible that this organ came from Feltman's, and at some point ended up at River View before it closed in 1941. The organ was in very poor condition when it arrived at Knoebels, and some parts had to be custom fabricated to get the organ playing again. so it is very posible that if this organ had brass pipe-work it was missing when Knoebels bought it.

  • @inn22 I do not, but I hope someone else does. OK, then what happened to the gigantic Frati which used to be on Feltman's carousel circa 1912? It seems to have disappeared. Could this be the same organ, with the brass pipes removed and a new facade, playing Artizan rolls? Is there any way to prove they are not the same organ? I have a photo of the Feltman's organ somewhere and could scan it in and send it to you and/or Karlfalcon if there's enough interest.

  • This organ arrived with the Carousel and the Bruder 107 in 1941 when the machine was purchased from riverview park in Rahway, NJ. The history of the organ before that is unknown, unless anyone has any history of Riverview park in NJ.

  • @KawhackitaRag

I believe the Frati has accompanied the Grand Carousel for most of its tenure at the park since '41. it definitely predated the 1980s.

  • they need to get wedding journet pronto! best carousel toon ever!

  • I love the wurlITzer 165 band organ. it is my favorite

  • Now, could this organ have the following history: built in Germany, imported to U.S. as one of four organs on Feltman's carousel (along with 80- and 94-keyless Gebruder Bruder and 65-key Gavioli organs), converted to Artizan rolls, sold to St. Catharines carousel, goes to Canadian museum in the '70s, sold to Knoebels in the 80's, currently on carousel? Is this correct, or am I completely wrong? I just cannot fathom there being 3 Fratis this big in the US at the same time!

  • Is this the largest Frati organ known to exist in the whole world? Have you seen the giant one in the St. Catherines Historical Museum in Canada which used to be on the St. Catherines carousel? (replaced by a much smaller Frati). I cannot even find so much as a picture of this 121-key organ.

Where did most of the pipes of the Knoebels Frati organ go? What is its history? Is this the same organ used on Feltmans carousel in Coney Island, which some historians tell me "disappeared"?
