I get this question a lot, So I figured I might as well adress it in video form. While I can't really give you guys perfect ways to get a hold of the music I like listening to, I can definitely give you some places to start off at:
- Resources:
http://techno.org/electronic-music-guide/
If you don't really know much about the types of music I tend to play on my videos, then I suggest you start here to educate yourself. Keep in mind that this isn't a perfect guide: there are some mistakes here and there (not much really, but you might find a mislabled song or two), and the descriptions of the various genre's of electronic music are very opinionated. But there is still lots of good music clips to sample, and you'll have names and song titles to start with when you find something you like. And I do have to admit, I kinda agree with some of the opinions. :P
http://www.discogs.com/
This is a great resource to use when you are looking up artists, albums and individual tunes. If you have the name of a dj/artist or song that you want to check out, this is a great site to look that up. Keep in mind that this is an information site only; you can't download music here. However, there is a community there full of people that are willing to buy/sell/trade music.
- Download sites/blogs:
http://www.thejunglepreserve.org/
http://goldenerajungle.com
If you love old school jungle, and/or are trying to track down some of the past classics, then you HAVE to check out these two sites. The guys who run them are working hard to bring old school music to those looking for it, and there's lots of it to download. Plus, it's all FREE!. So if you want to hear some heavy pounding baselines and earth sharttering drumwork, what are you waiting for? Keep in mind that these sites only deal with old jungle dj mix tapes and radio mixes/shows: you won't find single tracks here. But the mixes tend to be damn good anyway, and you get to hear a lot of classics in a single download. So go check them out if you're interested. You do have to register at the Golden Era Jungle site in order to get the stuff there, but it's free to do so.
http://www.ragga-jungle.com
Another place to go if you really like jungle. Unlike the other two links above, this site is a place to get new jungle music. Thankfully, they tend to be a continuation of the old "amen break" style, and they tend to be pretty damn good. There are mixes there as well. The music is free to download also, but you have to register there first. Again, it's free to do so.
http://reactiv-8.blogspot.com/
A blog dedicated to Chicago House, Detroit Techno, Acid House, Uk Rave and Hardcore, House, Madchester, Early Drum & Bass, and Early Trance between 1985-1994. Lots of great stuff here to nab. However, the guy hasn't updated his blog in over a year, and so many of the links may be dead. Still, it's worth a shot, and it's not like if you find a particular set of tunage with a dead link you can't find it elsewhere....

"Where does anyone get their music from?" It's a good question. Music is such an interesting aspect of a person's life. But it's art. I've spoken to an interesting fellow named RowanFortuneWood who has addressed the issue of art, and we seem to have come to an agreement that there are two parts to it; the artist, and the perceiver. The artist brings their experience to their expression, and the perceiver draws from it their interpretation of it according to thier life experience. Not cut and dry

woodyrimshot here: Do you like Chick Corea, Pat Matheny, Dave Weckl, David Garfield and/or Mike Stern? These are my influences that helped me right the music I am working on for my first CD I will actually sell. When I was younger I couldn't stand jazz, but I've grown to cherish it.

I think the reason you get the "Where you get your tunes from" question alot, is because music is like by everyone lol. You could be white/black/christian/atheist, and maybe like the same music(Provided the lyrics aren't going against someone's ideals ect, but most of your music seems like trance/DnB) So, I think that's maybe why. Everyone loves music, even if they have different worldly views.

I'm one of those all rounder guys who like pretty much much most stuff. I'm not into T&B but even that has some nice stuff, I have to admit.
Also, it's important to recognise a music type, within it's genre, wether it's well written or not. Most people don't actually listen to the music. Like individual instruments in a song and how they make sounds in sync with each other. Or the pace of the rhythme.
