I have this one hermit crab, he bullies all the others. I don't know what to do about him . . . I am trying to leave him in a separate aquariam. But, I don't know if it will work.

Well, that'll stop him bullying... is he doing what these two were doing or is he pulling at the other hermit crabs bodies? These two were fighting for dominance, but if he's pulling at their bodies, chances are he's looking for a new shell you could buy a few shells a little bigger than the one he's in to see!

Oh yeah, and buy a variety of shapes and sizes. Sometimes you can have tons of shells to choose from but they don't pick any because they're looking for a certain shape opening...

You know what just happened . . . the bully crab pulled apart one of my crabs! He pulled off the big claw and one leg! And the other one was too scared to come out - so he starved! The other one probably didn't like the shell so he died . . . now I have a meanie left! Well, I can't really be mad at him, hermit crabs are like that . . . but I am mad at him! :'( It's just his nature. I cried for so long. And my hamster died this week also . . .

That sucks a lot... you are right htough, it is just their nature... maybe think of him as a strong crab and not a meanie!

I'd also like to add that you don't have the right shells that species needs. Their shells have to be D-shaped.

It wasn't a shell fight, it was a dominance fight and that was about as long as the entire fight lasted. My family and I are members of the Hermit Crab Association and there are plenty of Whale Eyes, Shark Eyes, grey snail, green snail, ect. shells available from Naples Sea Shells and The Crabbage Patch. These two crabs are too large for nerites and tiger moon shells. Thanks though.

I know now, I'm over this, death is just a passage. I was just sad that that had to happen. But, the seasons are changing, and nature is nature. So life moves on, the world still turns no matter what you try to do. We are made to die. Which is true. this is philosophical (to me) not some dumb 'emo kid' thing.

It's a shell fight. I looked it up after I left my message on here last night. He stopped for a while, but now he's back at it again. They all keep switching shells. So I really have to buy new shells.
