This is part of the Seder Symbols section from the video of The Stonewall Seder, a ritual celebration of LGBT Jewish Pride, held at Congregation Bnai Jeshurun in NYC since 1996 in June for Pride Week. The full set of symbols on the plate include: exotic fruit, the pink triangle, bricks and stones, a bundle of sticks, two challot, a broken ring and an empty cup. While influenced by the Passover Seder, and indeed other seders in the tradition, it is its own holiday. Bnai Jeshurun is not an lgbt synagogue — it is progressive, and so supports full equality for lgbt citizens and full participation for lgbt people in Jewish life. Presence at this dinner is not a statement of sexuality, since many are in fact straight supporters. Short videos of the entire service are being uploaded so that this liturgy can be shared.
