Yup! Questlove is on point with what he is saying. I think The Roots are like the filet mignon haha. some radio songs are like McDonald's, it's everywhere but is it good for u? The Roots lyrics are more complex than the other mainstream records because our society is really on that sing-a-long club songs right now. Black Thought raps more than the average things. Plus there are plenty of underground artist out there that don't even get recognized. Living Legends, Hieroglyphics to name a few.
