In September 1944, flush with success after the Normandy invasion, the Allies confidently launched Operation Market Garden, a wild scheme intended to put an early end to the War by invading Germany and smashing the Riech's war plants. However a combination of battlefield politics, faulty intelligence, bad luck and worse weather led to disaster.

  • Unfortunately, as with a lot of programmes on You Tube, the sound quality is poor. This film certainly so!

  • @TheBuster31 N'aww bless, try getting a better laptop? ;)

  • God, I got my laptop's volume up to 100% and using my headset and I still can't hear a thing...

  • @TechnicalJaguar Prehaps you ought to fix it then :P

  • @ross79745 Perhaps you should purchase a better recording equipment since my laptop is brand new.

  • @TechnicalJaguar well all the other 14,350 people seem to fine with it :L

  • From this very one part, we could tell how much the Polish suffered. They lost so many during their drop, and when they tried to get to the 1st airborne, even more were killed. Gen Sosabowski was already so sad and after the war, the Failure of Market Garden was blamed on him. Those assholes. Montgomery and Eisenhower were the ones who planned or it and did not care bout the dangers anyways. And all they had to do was point at the poles and say, it's their fault... Really dissapointing.

  • @september7891 No, it's really not.

  • 5:20 Cpt. Stransky :O

  • @JasonSnafuYap its better the poles suffering than english.

  • Lt. General Wilhelm Bittrich demostrated compassion and that he was a soldier in his cease fire so that the British wounded could be tended too.

  • Who's the soldier lying face down at 3:46?

  • The poles got fucked over bigtime throughout WW2........

  • @ross79745 No, these are the only ones who chose to type a response to teh bullshit. Audio quality is total shit-simply repair it by uploading new copies with better audio, and be damn the amounts of hits on your, hard-to-hear channel!

  • Everyone says the Sound Quality sucks. That's an Understatement. I had to use some Super speakers to for basic talking. This video needs some work. Why do people download this crap when it sucks? Perhaps we are suppose to read lips. I'm lucky - I just happen to have earphones and speakers to get me through. What a way to Ruin a 5-Star Movie !!

  • i cant hear it!

  • @JasonSnafuYap Nothing I read blamed the Poles. Officially Eisenhower described Monty in positive terms but, according to an account by his driver in the book (Masters of Battle. Monty, Patton and Romml at War. By Terry Brighton, page 118) Eisenhower hated General Montgomery. Monty planned it. It was his baby and his boondoggle. Eisenhower wanted to keep the alliance together. Wars rarely go as planned. Peace, love and blessings
