Lou was very much loved by wrestlers and fans alike. As weird as it may seem, he was exactly the same in the ring as he was on the street - very spontaneous and funny. He managed some rock bands during and after his wrestling career, including NRBQ, and would occasionally perform with NRBQ on stage and MC their shows.
