The concert opens with a Concerto for Turntables and Orchestra by Gabriel Prokofiev, grandson of Sergei, bringing echoes of club nights, dance floor beats and remixes into the concert hall. Performed by DJ Switch and The National Youth Orchestra.

DJ Switch is the first EVER DJ to perform at the Proms. The Proms is an annual TV season of the world greatest orchestras / composers and orchestral conductors. This is HUGE. The proms is held at The Royal Albert Hall, the original home for the DMC World Championships!

Anthony John Culverwell aka DJ Switch aka Tony '3 Times' -- so called for his three back-to-back world DJ championship titles -- began moving records at the tender age of 11 but has since conquered the world over with his scratching superpowers & hasn't looked back.

Not to be confused with nemesis Dave 'MajorLazerBeyonceTheOtherSwitch' Taylor, this Switch defines himself through live performance & versatility. He's done regular guest contributions for 1Xtra, Radio 1 & the BBC Asian Network, shared the stage with luminaries from Professor Green to Public Enemy, performed at clubs, cinemas, cricket matches & churches.

From his involvement in the Alternative Dubstep Orchestra to heading up the forefront of the burgeoning Electro Swing scene, Anthony can turn his hands to anything & everything.

  • Everyone connected with the DMC WORLD DJ CHAMPIONSHIPS are incredibly proud of DJ Switch. The last time we were at the Royal Albert Hall we had James Brown, Run DMC and Public Enemy with us. We invite everyone to view the advancement of the DJ society in our DJ ONLINE Championship which ends on 5th September.

  • BRILLIANT GREAT SCRATCHING PLUS MY BROTHER KNOW SWITCH

  • great show :)

  • et ca vien parler de musicalité hahaha pourquoi un tel gachi ? pour vendre des platines et des serato ?

  • big up! to dj switch to try new forms of making music.

  • Awkward... much.

  • They need it one of this to perform: Dj Qbert Dj Flare or D-styles. I think that with any of those 3 dj's we can call it a masterpiece, with dj switch is alright but not awesome.

  • He should have worn a long sleeve collard black shirt like the other male musicians in the orchestra.

  • thats fresh !

  • I didnt like it. DONT SHOOT ME! i love both classical and turntablism but Switch didnt do it for me. his timing was all out. he kept doing generic battle style cuts instead of making it flow along with the rest of the music. pitch bending was nice but still wonky at times. Dont get me wrong i couldnt do better!!! Im only whinging because its a big chance to get something like that over to a public ear nevermind a classical audience at the Proms. Could have been better, thats all im saying....
