Recorded June 29, 2007.

Mount McKinley or Denali ("The Great One") in Alaska is the highest mountain peak in North America, at a height of approximately 20,320 feet. It is the centerpiece of Denali National Park. Mount McKinley has two significant summits: the South Summit is the higher one, while the North Summit has an elevation of 19,470 feet. Five large glaciers flow off the slopes of the mountain. The Peters Glacier lies on the northwest side of the massif, while the Muldrow Glacier falls from its northeast slopes. Just to the east of the Muldrow, and abutting the eastern side of the massif, is the Traleika Glacier. The Ruth Glacier lies to the southeast of the mountain, and the Kahiltna Glacier leads up to the southwest side of the mountain.

This video is shot from the copilot's seat of a single engine otter with K2 Aviation. The video begins as we take off from the Talkeetna, Alaska Airport and fly over the Susitna River. There was literally not a cloud in the sky as we flew all around Mount McKinley. We started by flying over Ruth Glacier, then the Great Gorge and Sheldon Amphitheater. It was then over North Fork Glacier and around Mount Silverthrone.

  • All this beauty in nature and people still don't believe in God...I'm sorry but nothing this magnificent happens by chance.

  • Oh man I have some friends who plan to climb that and now I am worried. Thought I would get a birds eye view of the Mountain. You know how young people can be the go in Head strong without being prepared. Since I am 53 I thought I would get some preparation for their excersion. Thanks for who ever made the video and whom ever uploaded it. Namaste
