Here's the title sequence and first few minutes of The Human Jungle. It was shot at Elstree Film Studios by the Associated British Picture Corporation for their subsidiary television company ABC Television (UK). It starred Herbert Lom as a Psychologist who brought us a different case study each week from the depths of psychological 'Human Jungle.'
This episode is called 'Over and Out' and stars Ian Bannen.

I collect old television and radio material, so if you'd like to see more of this, get in touch.

  • I have a bit of Zero One somewhere. I'll see if I can post some in the future.

  • As it's a filmed series, it doesn't have one. It would probably be played in by the transmission controller at the time of broadcast. It's the same deal as The Avengers, filmed series, so no ident on the print.

  • Yes, really excellent clip! Thanks very much for posting this. Let's hope they bring the series out on DVD at some point.

  • Herbert Lom is great. I loved this series! Far different here to his portrayal of Chief Insp. Dreyfuss in "The Pink Panther'.

Human Jungle is on DVD now from Network..might get the box set myself.

Shame British modern tv programmes are terrible.

  • I have a set of these from video which are pretty poor but somehow picture quality didnt seem to matter. Most are wonderful and when the good news is that the complete series is to be released in the uk in the summer of 2012. I hope in time for the olympics coz then we will all have somethin decent to watch.heh heh. I intend to purchase them myself as I will be so very happy to see these in quality condition. Herbert Lom makes this show so so cool. A great actor indeed.

  • It's wonderful to see this stylish opening once more. British films of the 50s and 60s with Herbert Lom in the credits are always a must for me - the bigger his part the more the picture gains. I would particularly recommend Dassin's 'Night and the City' where he is up against Richard Widmark to great effect.

The Pink Panther films hardly stretched his enormous talent.

  • Good to see doctors smoking

  • wow to see this again!!! sad and happy I was 9 sitting round the fire with my mum dad brother and dog .Found it unnerving!!!Great to hear the music ,thanks for sharing

  • DVDs available for this series ?

  • The air traffic control guy (and the camera) keeps looking at the Tannoy (PA system) as ff it were another actor...

I totally agree. Especially after having just watched a whole episode that was posted here at youtube earlier this month. No wonder Herbert Lom is one of my favorite actors; he's always been so smooth, intelligent, suave, intelligent & debonair!

  • An exceptional series.

How right you are, O' Spiffy One! The beautiful & talented Ms Cummins was indeed in "Hell Drivers", opposite the equally talented Mr Lom & the late great Sir Stanley Baker. In fact, the whole movie is available here at youtube. I watched it a few months ago...VERY good British drama! I highly recommend it....many thanks for your comment! Hope you have a weekend that's strictly from coolsville, daddy-o! :)
