  • yeah, if you dont have enough velocity at the torch tip, she will flash back on you. if the hydroxy gas dont have enough velocity, you basically have a fast burn fuse. good reason to always use a bubbler.

    from tip back, use a small wad of fiberglass. then fine bronze wool packed tightly but you should be able to blow through it with only modest restriction. Works best when wet.

    Mig tips I use are .025 and .030.

    Volume output should be at least 1.5 LPM ... more works better ...

  • Well, that clears things up. I built a smacks booster and have only be able to get .5 lpm and I am using an actual lpm flow gadge. I think to get over +1.75 LPM I need to run shorter wires and 20amps. Last night I was at .5 lpm and 9amps. I will try again tonight running 20amps and jumper cables.

  • yea i blew up 2 bubblers tonight messing around with mig tips im not making enough hho to run one well i was but wasent satisfied with the flame so i drilles out the mig tip slightley and blew up the bubblers one was a gatorade bottle only about half full and it made a nice bang
