Five weeks after orthognathic surgery.mp4

Week 5 going into week 6. The wires are off so I can now slurp food into my mouth or post bits in there! I have been told not to try chewing as the bones will not yet have set properly, so the food has to be soft, mashed potatoes and the like. I had bolognese last night, think I ate half a cow. Splint off next week. Will be back at work as well for a couple of days!

@sheffmarc - I found out the surgery date about six weeks before the day. I was told October last year that it would have been January, but then was told in December that it would not be until February / March. I did not see the surgeon until very close to the op. It was a little frustrating but I tried to remember that it's just another day in the office for everyone else and so there is no sense of urgency to give you a date. It will happen soon enough!

Thanks for your help and advice, I really just want the op, to be sooner rather than later, but they keep not mentioning anything about it, I might ask when I am back in June.

Question,

When did you find out your surgery date?

I am waiting for mine, I was originally told it should be september, it's may soon, and I still have had no conformation. I have not even seen surgeon yet.

How much notice did you get???

You're doing really well mate. You can speak properly now and can eat.... all getting better so much quicker. I will be watching these again when I go through this.... 3 weeks to go.
