Thank you so much, Cece, for this info. I start my initial treatment on the 27th and I am so, so, so excited. I must admit, though, that now the band thing has me scared, but I'm gonna let them know and hope they will try to numb me a little before they push those on! I guess the only questions I have now are do they scratch your cheeks and lips and what kind of gum do you chew? Love ya, sis!!

Hey tmcphatter! Listen, I had no intentions on making you (or anyone) scared, I was just trying to be real about it and let ya'll no my situation. Yes, every now and then i may get a little, minor irritation on the inside of my cheeks but nothin serious at all. At first ur def going to need a good chapstick cuz while ur adjusting to them in ur mouth, you will get dry lips. Oh and i just chew whatever gum i feel like, i luv big red gum but DO NOT CHEW NOW AND LATERS CANDY!!! Seriously...

This video was very helpful. I was told by my son's dentist that he will need braces. Yikes! Kids are expensive as all get out. He's six now, so the dentist said around twelve was a good age to get braces. Do you recommend getting braces at twelve based on your personal experiences or do you think I should wait. Either way, my husband and I are preparing for the financial aspect of it.

Hey Csmart01, I think it would be in his best interest to get it over with asap. My best friend had her braces on during middle school ( like the 6th grade) and off before high school.i always tell her how i wish i would have done the same just because its more difficult to deal with as you get older. Most people get them around that age anyway :)

i just got braces, and the wire at the bottom end of my mouth, where the band is around my molars (i think thats the name of the teeth? haha) keep coming out. its SO annoying. i just got it fixed on the left side a few days ago and now its happening on the right side. i barely eat anything and idk why its coming out! help?

I have braces an i'm happy i didn't have to have the loop around the back tooth that goes into your gums. ugh after like the first 4 tightening though my teeth got used to tightenings an only were soar for like 3 days i didnt have a week or two of pain every month. in january it will be 3 years ugh i go the bottoms off last month an they look great just this one gap that refuses to close im going to my appointment on wednesday hopefully he can try another approach cuz top havent moved in months!

hi i have white braces! it's more beautiful and i prefere them coz they are like...invisible and don't hurt. i'm 15 and the white braces are for adults but i desided to wear them too =D bye!
