@allankles I think opinions are split on it. I myself prefer the OAV, animation reusage and all, but as far as I'm aware the TV series technically follows the original books more closely. I find that neat, but it's a bit jarring when they switch main characters after the first eight episodes.

Kanno and Maaya, an excellent combination.

@xJoN97 Record of Lodoss War: Chronicles of the Heroic Knight (Lodoss-tou senki, Eiyuu kishi-den). It's a TV series that aired back in 1998 in Japan. You might not have heard it if you got into anime recently, since the company that originally licensed this in the US, US Manga Corps, has since gone under.

how old is this anime never heard of it before

Why are all the good animes so short?

i've seen about 500 different anime-series by now and this is still my favourite opening and i guess it will be for at least another 500 series...
brilliant op

the series is good, just not as graphically energized as the intro

@SoberAllmanBrosFan don't let anyone lie to you, this series was awful.
the OVA was much better.
As people have said if the series embodied even half the spirit of the intro, it would've been great. Too bad.

This opening is AWSOME! I downloaded the video and I just happened to randomly click it! =3 Is the actual series as epic as the opening? Is it worth watching? It looks pretty cool judging from this video.

@SoberAllmanBrosFan There was Lodoss War and then Legend of Crystania. Legend of Crystania was newer but wasn't exactly Lodoss War, just based in the same world. Damn good anime though, both of them.
If only most fantasy anime actually embodied the spirit of this opening.

They spent 80% of the series' budget on this opening.
