299kph=186mph and around 3 seconds 0-100kph=62mph

It's Big 4 :) Yamaha, Kawasaki, Honda and Suzuki.
But you are right, that fat tail end makes the R1 look a bit large compared to the competition (especially the CBR1000RR) Still, a pretty motorcycle.
