The CMA Music Festival started in April 1972 at the Municipal Auditorium then called Fan Fair. Over 10,000 fans showed up that year it more than doubled the next year and continued to grow over the next 37 years. Fan Fair moved around from the Fair grounds to its new location in the District In Downtown Nashville. Where they have booths set up at the Convention Center on Broadway for fans to meet their idols, fun zone on 2nd avenue, live day concerts at Riverfront Park, and big night concerts at LP field with all the big acts performing.
