My mom and I Watched this way back when I was very young. The seen where the mother made the sacrifice to save Nester. I remember my mom saying that she would have done the same thing for me. Sadly a few years later she past away on this very day I watched this every year since. Thank you so so much for sharing this...I love you Mom and Merry Christmas to everyone.

Absolutely! I haven't watched this for 30 years; just happened to think to google the name of the donkey and then check YouTube. Cried just I did 30 years ago.

I've always loved this growing up...always made me cry as well... I just wish they would play it on TV now a days...Children need to see it... There are more messages in it than many may even realize.

In all seriousness, this is the one special that stuck with me as a kid. I remember when it first aired and despite the sad moments within, Nestor not only entertained me, but reminded me why as a Christian we celebrate Christmas. A strong story which proves that you can still have Christ in Christmas.

@Disneyfan82 Some people have their own beliefs in the holiday. There are those who are atheists or are raised in a religion they grew up with and believe in Jesus and God in some way like he is called Allah, Master of the Universe, etc. There are those who lost, lack of faith and sometimes people blame Him for things that happen in their lives. Things happen for a reason. God and Jesus are lessons about love, unionhood, peace and freedom of choice. Some choose to be good, bad, etc.
