@FisherHoneyBees I still wear yellow laytex dishwashing gloves. I'm think the bees can sting right through them, but it hasn't happened yet. My 1 sting in 3 months was when I decided to try going gloveless.
One of the most amazing things about doing this is getting a finger grip on a frame when I have to move a bunch of bees out of the way to do it. Slow and easy, to be sure, but they don't seem to really mind. It is like they understand the idea of, "get out of the way, I need to be here."

@FisherHoneyBees I did add an inner cover. Thanks. And I usually just reach in with my fingers now, and pull. Just use the tool sometimes for the first one, and to slide the frames appart.

Paul,
Don't forget to add that inner cover! They are building up nicely. That is a good amount of wax that they have built up on those new frames in just 6 days.
Also if you pry the frames from the end like you are now. As they build up propolis and get them stuck you will end up breaking the box lip. You need to put the curved part of the tool down between and the frames and by "twisting" the tool you will use one frame to break the other one free so you can pull it out. (make sense?)
