Launching of 2-liter bottle rockets with the 8th grade science class of Mr. Mihalik. This is my prototype of this school year. My first rocket 2 years had no recovery system. This time I am trying a parachute. I had some difficulty coming up with a properly mounted nosecone for it. The nosecone flew off during this flight, but the chute deploys successfully. I am the one who pulls the handle to launch it; one of the other students from the class is holding my camera and recording.

  • @liveyourlife9997 I attached my parachute to the line the connected my nosecone to the fuselage. During the launch, my nosecone detached but the chute deployed successfully (relatively speaking), Some of the other students in class attached their parachutes directly to their fuselage, and most of those did not deploy at all.

I modeled my style of attaching the parachute based on all the estes model rockets I built when I was a kid.

  • im doing the same project. how do u attach the parachute and make it deploy succesfully?
