Hello, it's Tuesday, October 16, 2007. I'm Rebecca Field with a UPI entertainment update.

Britney Spears has been booked on traffic charges. The pop star turned herself in to police last night for charges stemming from August. The singer was reportedly at the police station for 45 being processed for two incidents...driving without a valid license and a hit and run car accident. Each count has a maximum 6 month jail sentence or 1,000 dollar fine.

CNN News Anchor Anderson Cooper is covering new ground...Sesame Street. He'll reportedly guest star on the kid's TV show set to air today. On the episode Cooper apparently fills in as a reporter for Oscar the Grouch on "GNN: The Grouch News Network."

Actor Colin Farrell is opening up about his son's health troubles. The actor tells an Irish newspaper that his 4 year old son James suffers from a genetic disorder called Angelman Syndrome. The disease apprently causes developmental delays. But Farrell says his son is happy, brave and "the way he was meant to be." The actor shares custody of James with his ex Kim Bordenave.

Sources say Jay Leno is hesitant to leave late night TV. Three people tell the Los Angeles Times that he's reluctant to leave his post as host of "The Tonight Show" in 2009 as planned. NBC signed on comedian Conan O'brien to take over for Leno and apparently wanted to give him a specific start date so he wouldn't take a job at another network.

Oscar winning actress Halle Berry is preparing for the release a new drama. She arrived at the premiere of her new film "Things We Lost in the Fire" last night in Los Angeles. Berry is joined on the big screen by David Duchovney and Allison Lohman. Young cast member Micah Berry was also at last night's premiere as well as actress Robin Weigert. The film is about a family coping with the death of a father. It's set to hit most theaters this Friday.

That's all for now. Go to upi.com to find the days latest news and updates. Thanks for watching.

  • I agree with you:)

  • We must stop hit and runs.. we must demand that passengers are required to call in a hit and run if they are riding in such a car. please search "steven's law" on youtube and help save lives. steven bacon was hit on his bicycle and left for dead when 4 people knew about his plight. we can not allow this to happen yet every year 1000 innocent pedestrians are killed and 18,000 more are badly injured and left to die.Ask your state reps and senators to change the laws.
