@OPOCHKA eeek. it appears to be connecting 2 residential streets, so I'm not sure why you'd be planning for an 18 wheeler. And on the rare occasion, it's got the extra buffer in the centre, which is exactly what the raised kerb stones are for - it being raised also prevents normal sized vehicles from using them.
@OPOCHKA it looks like a well designed roundabout actually. The width is only a problem for those who dont know how to driver very well. The only problem i can see is that they have fallen into the same trap our Australian designers do and have put a nice garden in the middle. While I know their arguement is that it slows you down more because you cant see very well, it makes it more dangerous because whent he garden gets bigger, it makes it very difficult to see everything you need to see.
Quite obvious here that some dick-head in the cadastral planning office has designed the entire roundabout radius much too small for the type of traffic in use.
What is going to happen here when an 18 wheeler Semi arrives ?
The width of the road around the roundabout is also much too narrow.
NOT a good idea to put raised kerb stones around the roundabout.
There will be a lot of tyre damage happening here + accidents.
You need someone who knows about roundabouts on the design team = call me.
What they don't tell Americans for some obscure reason is that you need to indicate when you are leaving so the guys waiting can come onto the roundabout

Lots of time and fuel saved here, compared with a lights-controlled junction. Safer, too.

ok, some people here don't know how to use roundabouts properly.
