Poem For Introduction
Gene married me in 83
Count the years you know how long its been
He knows me now but gratefully
He remembers me back when!
Some people say age in is your head
I will argue the point
Its in my back, its in my hands
Heck its in every joint!
My eyes are causing problems
My hair is gettin thin
I dont know where Im going cuz
I dont know where Ive been.
My teeth are getting weaker
But a few are still in my mouth
I think I have to move to Texas cuz
My butt has definitely gone south.
The teeth can go the eyes can go
And the hearing I wont complain
But it is a fact youll never know
How much I miss my brain!
I crawl from bed each morning
I creak and moan and wail
Youd think Id give up this lifestyle
But there is more to this little tale.
With all the hurts and sore spots
And all the aches and pains
There is no better feeling
Than holding tight to reins.
A barrel horse is something special
Full of spit and fire and grit
I know there is no way , no how
Im ever going to quit.
Its something very special
And I get to do this every day
And I will probably continue
Until the guys in white jackets come and haul my rear end away.
So to my husband who has been a sport
I want to say about all this
I love you more and more each day
and Ill tell you with a kiss
But I have to get through this routine
And I hope I dont forget
When the music stops and Im lost out here
I guess its time to quit!
Love It!!!!
