I forgot to mention that people on the right don't like Solzhenitzyn either. He had criticisms for the US and the West in general as well with Communism and the East. So even if someone tried to do something like say, make a movie based-off of The Gulag Archipelago, you really shouldn't expect any kind of support from liberals or conservatives.

Who do you think is running education, entertainment and other media (at least in The US)? They wouldn't be so happy if movies were made about the Russian Holocaust, since that's where there political cousins are.

What a great man. It is a disgrace that he is not more publicised in the West - nor is his work. Twice as many people died in the Gulags as in the Nazi Camps, the conditions & brutality were worse and yet why have these people been forgotten? Why are there so many Hollywood movies about the Jewish Holocaust but not the Russian Holocaust?
