The Pionus parrots are often introduced as "quiet, mellow birds, one of the few medium-sized parrots suitable for apartment living", and indeed, many of them are.

Mine . . . is not. So much. Turn the volume up and put your ear to the speaker for the full effect. (WARNING: THE POSTER OF THIS VIDEO ASSUMES NO RESPONSIBILITY FOR ANY HEARING LOSS, HEADACHE, OR DIFFICULTY CONCENTRATING SUBSEQUENT TO FOLLOWING THIS ADVICE.)

  • My white cap does this, too! Usually when he thinks I'm doing something more fun in another room. I call it the "bratty parrot" scream.

  • My White Cap goes off like an alarm every day. She can keep up with a cockatoo!

  • that sounds like my Green Cheek, is she imitating another bird?

  • LOL the music playing probably encourages the screaming. It just wants to participate!

  • My bluehead Ivy is the same way....she yells like that everyday in the morning!

  • I have a bronze wing, and she's really quiet. Probably not what you want to hear. LOL Yours is just a tad noisy.
