Look, if he doesn't want to be assailed for votes in the senate, then either don't make those votes, or don't be a senator. As for the ad, it's interesting that nobody says there is any factual inaccuracy in it. Only that somehow we're never supposed to criticize a man because he serviced to his country.

No sympathy card being played. The Patriot Act is both unconstitutional and more important, anti-American. The Department of Homeland Security is a Republican porkbarrel project. To have a draft evading pussy like Saxby Chambliss running ads featuring Osama bin Laden and Saddam Hussein along side a man who lost three libs in Vietnam is, to quote John McCain, " beyond disgusting, it's reprehensible ". Saxby Chambliss is a traitor to this country who should recieve death by lethal injection.

Like I said, the Patriot Act is both unconstitutional and anti-American. Cleland was right to vote against it, 11 times. Oh, you know who else thought it was unconstitutional? John Ashcroft. Bush sent Andrew Card and Alberto Gonzalez to try to get him to sign off on it while he was in the hospital set to undergo major surgery. Problem was, they did so AFTER James Comey, who Ashcroft abdicated the power of AG on a temporary basis refused. In the end, Ashcroft went along with it unwillingly.

And yeah, no shit, there was no Supreme Court decision. Because they wouldn't allow one. It is almost impossible to get ANY court to hear a case that involves overturning a legislative decision. The Patriot Act has done less to fight terroris than George W Bush has, and Bush has done two things: COCK and BALLS. And yes, Ashcroft has said since resigning as attorney general that he was never a proponent of the Patriot Act, but went along so not to embarass the president.

Thank you for your kind words, just tell me one thing. What exactly did I say that you agreed with so passionately? I made a few postings on this site and it was more than 2 months ago last time I did so.

Two words: Patriot Act. Or should I say the UnPatriot Act. Not only is it unconstitutional, it's one of the most foolish things our government has ever done. When I hear someone defending this abomination, or even refusing to speak critically of it, I'm reminded of Benjamin Franklin's words:

"Those who would give up Essential Liberty to purchase a little Temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety."

Max should have received a medal for each of his homeland insecurity no votes.

Continued.
Draft dodging coward Saxby Chambliss' sickening, hypocritical swift-boat attack ads against former U.S. Senator and Vietnam veteran Maxwell Cleland, as I've written many times, were vile and disgusting beyond words.
If "Saxby" offered Mr. Cleland an apology for his disgraceful, dishonorable actions, he "might" be half the man Max is.
