Big things come from big factories.

GE has facilities that span over forty football fields, producing everything from 1½-ton gas turbines to full-on locomotives. To get a better idea, join us as we travel through the majestic open spaces of some of America's largest factories--GE's Healthcare, Transportation and Aviation plants. If you've ever felt small, or big, wait till you experience this.

Lol you can't blame them, the tax loopholes are there and they take advantage of it. They'd be stupid not to.

UP TO 8 hours of production testing for an airplane engine? I thought it would be like x10 that time.

Man your comment hit the point. That carriers have been, and continue to purchase GE locomotives, says something about the product. No, not cheap. I have run them, and while they are not perfect, the are more comfortable to operate (read I am not overwhelmed by the turbo noise), and in heavy service, they still continue to out-lug anything else. AC motors are the cat's meow!

That would be true. But if you would be placed at Peebles you would live in one of the poorest parts of Ohio. There is nothing there BUT the GE plant.
