At the Public Utilities Commission Public Participation Hearing on November 5, 2007, former Los Angeles City Councilman Nate Holden (10th district) refers back to the vote by the MTA board back in 2000 to have the Venice/Sepulveda alignment to go around Cheviot Hills for the same reasons community residents in South LA have voiced concerns (safety, traffic, community cohesion).
