Here's a bit of trivia, in the middle ages, high foreheads were considered so much of a sign of beauty on women that they would often shave their hairlines back a little to make their foreheads appear bigger. There was even something about it in Chaucer's Canterbury Tales if you've ever read that.

Haha, awesome! I love random facts like that. Knowledge is knowledge, even if it seems useless =) I've never read Canterbury Tales, but I've always flirted with the idea of reading it. Maybe I will finally pick it up and read it.

I'd definately reccomend it. One thing to remember though is that if you've never read Middle English is that at first glance it'll look like German or Dutch, but once you've learned to read it, it opens the door (or at least it did for me) to learning foreign languages similar to English by reading them like English using tips learned from reading Chaucer. I ended up teaching myself Frisian that way and can read some Dutch and German from what I learned from Frisian as a result.
