Always remember this performance above all else, the earth shattering Jimmy Barnes vocals, Don singing wtf !!! ............... and the subtle then blistering guitar virtuosity by Mossy, all of this before "EAST" made them fucking legends in Australia forever... quintessentially the perfect Aussie pub rock performance set in history.............. fuck computer girly twat modern music..... RIP Steve

Go Don..BRILLIANT....WOOOOOOOOH..

I heard or read somewhere that Cold Chisels cover of Wild Thing was considered the best ever by the Troggs when band members were asked (?). Dont know if thats true or not but for an original band they did some truly brilliant covers.

Go mossy. Great song. I agree with several qualified posters that cold chisel owned this song on swingshift. They did the best job on this song in the whole world. The rest of the world is still trying.

I still think to this day that the best version of this great song was sung by Jimmy & most of the boys at the Andy Durant Memorial Concert.... If you are lucky enough to have a copy of it.... hugs & kisses to ya... but it is THE best version...

@martin84125 no its not on swingshift , this version is shit to swingshift
-
@martin84125 no its not on swingshift ,
-
@martin84125 its not the recording for swingshift , close but no
-
@martin84125 No the swingshift version in my opinion was better but this is as close as I could find live on You Tube. Swingshift if I remember starts with Ian singing Mumma come and wipe the blood from my face, I cant see clear anymore. And its a feeling I just cant chase I feel Im knocking on Heaven's Door
Check the rare singing solo by Don Walker on the second verse, i liked it but i think they retired him from further duties . I've lost the album and can't check , but this recording is not the actual one used for Swingshift is it?
RIP Steve Prestwich

The Manly Vale Hotel was a great venue (now demolished sadly). I saw Chisel there in about 1982 - fantastic memory! Jimmy was in the audience right next to me singing Wild Thing as the climax to the show. This video was originally shown on on 'Nightmoves', a late night music show in the late 70s and early 80s. It was shown many years later on MTV (with Richard Wilkins) before MusicMax got it. Great to see it again, thanks for posting!
