HOLYOKE, Mass. (WWLP) - Governor Deval Patrick joined academic leaders and state and local leaders to celebrate the Massachusetts Green High Performance Computing Center "topping off" ceremony in Holyoke Tuesday.
The ceremony marked the completion of the steel structure of the facility that will be the hub of five research-intensive universities in Massachusetts.
The building on Bigelow Street will cost $95 million. It will be funded by MIT, University of Massachusetts, Boston University, Northeastern University and Harvard University along with state and federal money.
When work began in 2010, Patrick said that it was the biggest investment made in downtown Holyoke in 50 years.
