The "Sheep to Shawl" event at Black Sheep Gathering is a contest where teams of spinners/weavers compete by spinning wool into yarn, then plying and weaving a completed shawl in just 4 hours. Here we interview one of the contestants, then see the final judging of the completed shawls. The three teams were "Silverado Spinsters" from Napa, CA, and "Warped Wheels" from Klamath Falls, OR, and "Seattle Weavers Guild" from Seattle, WA. Cynthia Heeren judged the shawls.

  • It was amazing to see the work going into each project, and the finished pieces were works of art. We will be there again, maybe we'll see you next Summer!
