Hank Marvin got an honorable mention in Rolling Stone's 100 Greatest Guitarists issue as a forgotten master.. I think they would have been overshadowed by the Ventures, no pun intended, if they tried to make it over here. This in spite of their careers being coincidental. Cliff made it over here eventually, for awhile anyway.

@bassman619 I think they were ac15's T.V fronts..cool looking amps, some say these are better than the ac 30's.

Yes, the Beatles did. The Shadows started their careers in 1958, they were the first British rockband and they set an example!!
