This is a trip we took to Rodney, Mississippi. You would never guess it now, but Rodney was once a bustling and thriving river port town. It missed becoming the state capital by only three votes. However, today it is pretty much in ruins. There are still a few people who live there but most of the town itself is abandoned. There are empty buildings, houses and churches lining the main street in Rodney. One of the churches still bears the scars of a Civil War gunboat attack and even has a cannonball stuck in the wall. Rodney is an absolutely amazing place to visit filled with history and reminders of those that lived before us.

  • i have been there alot of times i love that place , did you get to see the shaffer house? i used to live about 30 min from there

  • @csa357magnum Very cool. No, I did not get to see the Shaffer House. We did go back to Rodney this year and I made a new video showing us actually going in a lot of the buildings. You can find it on my channel.

  • Am I the only one who finds ghost towns both interesting and pretty depressing?

  • @wasp9 Not at all. I think that's part of the fascination with ghost towns for me - the history and a reverence for the people who came before us and a way of life that is now long gone.

  • These towns should be repaired and kept as musems; if no ones does, the buildings are doomed to collapse and there will be no more place to visit.

  • fried green tomatoes!

  • Pretty shaky footage, and seems like you must have left panned your audio (monologues) on purpose.

  • Wow I really appreciate the effort you put into this. I would love it if you would do like a ghost town roadtrip through the usa and post a video of it done like the one above of every town you've seen.
