  • American Idiot should have won, Memphis is great, I mean like fantastical and all but the orchestrations, passion and story found in Idiot are WAY better.

  • Great song.

I hope that one day I can watch a Tony ceremony where there aren't any sound issues....

  • I introduced my daughter to Broadway and took her to six shows. We saw Mama Mia, War Horse, Phantom, Mormon, Lion King, and Memphis. She thought Memphis was the best. I believe it is very good and can understand why it won the Tony for best score. The songs really get you moving. It also depicts the blatant bigotry that ran rampant in the South.

  • @3goodtimes They do mention how rock and roll was stolen from black musicians.

And the short answer to the ending is no, but it's impossible to really explain out of context. It's a good show.

  • This song makes me move baby!!!

  • Saw this last week with Adam Pascal as Huey, and the entire show was phenomenal. It was the best show I've seen on Broadway

  • Just watched this on Netflix...as nice of a song as this is...it does NOT represent the show well enough. Memphis is...absolutely stunning, and that's judging it without seeing it live. Montego Glover is the definition of a leading lady, and the music is actually fantastic.

  • I both American idiot and Memphis if I was the tony awards a would have given then both best musical in a tie

  • I find it rather depressingly ironic to see a musical about Memphis feature a song called "Never Let Anyone Steal Your Rock and Roll" considering how much the white artists at Sun stole from black musicians for their own profit. And if this musical ends in racial harmony? It's way off base. Of course, all of the above could be wrong, I've yet to see it. Very talented actors and dancers either way.

  • @scorpioninpink really adams family ??? american idiot is amazing the set and costumes and book the songs are amazing real musical compared to this. and lighting
