Follow the story of Maureen, a heart and lung transplant patient at the Penn Transplant Institute.

"Up until my transplant, I spent my time doing my artwork," said Maureen. "My art really helped me to be able to express myself."

"When I was in the intensive care unit the group effort of all the specialists and doctors at Penn was wonderful," Maureen continued. "There must have been close to 50, 60 people all told that took care of me. They never gave up on me. Penn gave me hope."

Your life is worth Penn Medicine.

  • Maureen,

I had a heart & lung transplant, too. I hope that you are still doing well! I had mine in 2000.

  • Truly a touching story!
