Lyrics: Mine eyes have seen the glory of the coming of the Lord
He is trampling out the vintage
Where the grapes of wrath are stored,
He has loosed the fateful lightning
of his terrible swift sword,
His truth is marching on.

Glory, Glory Hallelujah,
Glory, Glory Hallelujah,
Glory, Glory Hallelujah,

In the beauty of the lilies
Christ was born across the sea,
With a glory in his bosom,
That transfigures you and me,
As He died to make men Holy,
let us sing to make men free,
Our God is marching on.

  • @Ryanolnlinc22 It is a Christian Hymn now. Written by a Christian(he was). Also the British and other armies use the hymn as a marching song.

  • Our God is an awesome God

  • glory be to god the father god the son and god the holy ghost .glory glory glory

  • of course... cause it says God three times and christ once and it talks about the bible. oh and it was written when christianity was the largest religion in the U.S. and it was unusual to be athiest. Oh yeah it talks about the gospel... but other than that its not a christian song cause they dont like Christ or The Gosple and God.

  • Do you have the other clip when Doonie sings "Our God is an awesome God"?

  • Of course. It was a religious song as well as a patriotic song. It was writting by a woman in the Union during the Civil War. It was written by the Union for the Union. An anti-slavery song as well.

  • and yes this also has affiliation with the us army

  • cant you see the word Christ in the lyrics... i believe that indicates Christianity involved with this hymn

  • OF Course, it is a true man of God! ;-)

  • Just so everybody knows, this song isn't a hymn, at least, not of Christianity. It is a marching song of the United States Army.
