There is an option for it in the Compiz management tool. If you haven't got the management tool you can download it via the synaptic package manager.
system -> preferences -> compiz config settings manager

I've used Compiz just fine under 32bit and 64bit Ubuntu. Currently use it under Ubuntu 8.10, 64bit.
-
dose it matter if u have 32 or 64 bit ubuntu version.

Follow the above, also you need to have the driver enabled for your graphics card System>preferences>Appearance> under the visual tab click extra.. It should prompt you to enable the driver..
-
yes i have ubuntu 8.1.0 but i go 1st to settings? or to system? i dont know where to go 1st to install it...
-
Have you got Ubuntu on your computer? You need Linux of some type on your machine to enable it.
-
Click System then >Administration>Synaptic package manager .. Type in compizconfig in the search field hit enter and it should be there for you to install the gui, it's called compizconfig-settings-manager. You need a reasonable graphics card to use the 3-D... Heh, I posted my msn to you if you get real stuck..
