My mom always says my brother was a hard baby do handle... but after he turner 2 he became sweeter and sweeter... and now he's the best guy ever...

So don't worry... its just a phase =)

Lately, since Liam turned one almost 2 months ago he has been a handfull! Hitting, slapping, pulling his legs up etc. He's quite a challenge lately. Up until 5 months he was fine, 6 months through 9 he was a bear, now almost 14 months he has been tantrum city. 14 months he still doesn't sleep through the night, I think his longest stretch of sleep has been maybe 4 hours.

Liam also laughs at getting his hands smacked and us saying "NO!". And he's back at doing whatever it was minutes later.

Sounds like our house! Oh my! I hope things get better for you. One good thing..that I am SUPER LUCKY about.... Henry is a wonderful sleeper!! I hope your little guy starts sleeping. It makes the day so much better.

my son turned one on march 6th! and what i do is if he grabs something i spank him in the hand just once enough to get his attention. look him in the face and say no. he crys for a second. and i have such a sweet baby lol he doesnt through fits. thank the lord. i truly believe in sticking to your choices and not caving in. be stern and he will know to stop.

Ha my daughter hit ENTER and I wasnt finished typing,lol. When does he throw tantrums?? Is it when he wants to do something he can?? If so just redirect him. Give him something he can play with. There very normal though my daughter throws tantrums sometimes but ignoring them works. Dont you wish they came with manuals,lol.

Congratulations!!! You guys did a great job with Henry and may the next year bring as much joy as the first :o)

My daughter was a very difficult baby and was very hard the first 2 years. She just turned 3 (yesterday) and we want a big age gap between children. Parents of easy children cannot relate and most are so quick to have children back to back.

(I find the hardest babies are also the cutest though ;)

you described my 9 month old daughter :) She is great when she is out and about but on a day to day basis my littke girl keeps me busy! happy birthday henry! x x

Hang in there. It will get better. We have been really stern with Noah and have started the smacking of the hands. It breaks my heart to do it but it usually does the trick. He is pretty docile though so it doesn't take much. Wish I could be more help :(

Andrew has been starting to do tantrums lately when he's not getting his way. I've started to just take him away and put him in another spot when possible. I also just tell him no and why. sometimes it works but good luck. I think you'll have to try different things till you find something that works. Hope you have a wonderful first birthday party!! You guys are great parents even with a difficult child

It's the same with Tige. He's been throwing screaming tantrums for a month. I'll admit I've screamed back at him a few times after several minutes of straight screaming. It's tough not to want to do it. It's tough for me to be the adult sometimes! I think our kids sound pretty similar. They're not angels, but it could be a lot worse. :)  The sweetness makes up for the tantrums.
