My deer camera recorded this on a deer carcass. What kind of bird is it?

  • Is this the whole tape? It can be really hard to tell. The red tailed has a distinctive triangular tail that is easy to see if the bird flys.

    Good luck!

  • Yes, it's the whole tape. It's from a deer camera, they only take a 15 second clip in the daytime. I have another clip that I will post soon that shows two the same type of birds fighting.

  • Red-tailed Hawks will sometimes scavenge especially in the winter.

  • Definitely a red tail

  • you idiots, thats joe!

  • Redtail Hawk.

  • RE: he fighting video. It is almost assuredly a Red-tailed hawk. The can have different phases of coloring underneath. These are very light. Often they have dappled chests and legs. Gosshawks almost always have banding on the chests and under the wings according to me. Very cool video!

  • or a red tailed hawk

  • looks like a goss hawk
