2008 Dodge Charger R/T vs. 2008 Pontiac G8 GT

Cars like the new 2008 Pontiac G8 GT and 2008 Dodge Charger R/T were once supposed to be every American's birthright. Brawny, V8-powered, relatively affordable rear-drive cruisers that can blow through a couple of big Western states in an afternoon at 90 mph — their drivers staring at the horizon through Ray-Bans, steering with one hand and smoking a Pall Mall with the other.

I'm a fan of both cars, but I'd take the G8 GT over the Charger R/T. If the Charger were to be an SRT8, that would make the decision harder...in which case a G8 GXP would be my best and final choice. lol

I see just as many woman buying chargers as I see in G6's....what I don't see is too many in G8's. I also see more woman in R/T Chargers than men. I'm sure it's different everywhere.

Oh and yeah I know pontiac hasn't made any cars with balls since the GTO, but the G8, let alone Pontiac isn't even made any more. So wtf are you arguing over. And blah blah blah... a WS6 will still blow most cars away

That comment is very presumptuous, so I will give you some facts:

The "Pontiac G8" is made in Australia by Holden. Over here we have a version called "HSV Clubsport R8". Mechanically, it is the same car as a Pontiac G8 GXP.

The Clubsport has it's "governor" set at 175 mph, not far off your theoretical 180 mph of your mum's R/T.

@Krysco51 to each their own,.. my mom has an 08 R/T with borla s125 and the thing does 159 in a 35 zone quite easily,...you can tell the governor of the computer in the motor was shutting the car down,..with the governor off you're looking at a 180+ mph automobile,..you ain't gonna get that outta the g8 no matter what governor you take off....but that automobile is what Pontiac is all about,..it's mean sharp, and really fast, my fav newer Pontiac besides the 89 formula ws6 305 :)
