Tire Finder » http://goo.gl/6aDlI

With so many options available to riders today, choosing just the right tire for your motorcycle or ATV can be a daunting task. But before you can narrow things down by brand or compound, you need to know the proper size tire for your bike. Here's a quick lesson in understanding motorcycle and ATV tire measurements, as well as how to find the tire using our awesome new Tire Finder.

Traditional Inch System
Some older motorcycles and more dual sport-focused bikes are measured in a traditional inch system manner. So for example you might see a size of 3.50 x 18 listed on the sidewall of the tire. This means that the tire is 3.5 inches wide at the tread and fits on an 18-inch wheel. On the Tire Finder, it will be listed as a 3.50×18.

Modern Offroad Tires
Newer bikes use tires listed with an aspect ratio on the sidewall. This system tells you the overall height of the sidewall on the tire. For example, a modern offroad tire may be listed as a 110/90-18. This means the tire is 110 millimeters wide at the tread, while the sidewall height is 90% of the tire width. Finally, the "18" in the tire size means that the tire will fit an 18-inch wheel. Using our Tire Finder, you can search for this tire either by width (110), aspect ratio (90) or rim size (18").

Modern Street Tires
Modern sport tires are listed much the same. A very popular tire size these days is a 180/55ZR17. Again, this means that the width of the tire is 180 millimeters, while the sidewall height is 55% of the overall tire width. Finally, the "17" means that the tire fits a 17-inch wheel (the ZR in the tire size refers to the speed rating and particular compound of the tire, but that's a post for another day!).

ATV Tires
ATV tires are measured differently than motorcycle tires. On our Tire Finder, you'll find them listed by overall tire height, overall width and rim size. For example, an ATV tire could be listed as a 25×8x11. This means the tire is a total of 25 inches tall, 8 inches wide and fits an 11-inch rim.

Hopefully, using these tips and our all-new Tire Finder, you'll find the right tire for the right price in no time. Check it us out at CheapCycleParts.com/Tires, or give us a call at 1-866-842-0086.
