2 weeks later

[Joe was finally un-grounded with a strict curfew: he can't be out later than 11pm without his parents. He decided to go see Gabby. He liked texting her and talking to her on the phone, but he really wanted to see her. Why is that? Because she looked like Sheryll? No, he told himself. He liked hanging around Gabby because she was fun and... and... Well that's all that mattered]
JOE: I'll be back in a few.
MR JONAS: Remember your curfew.
JOE: [Sighing] Yes Dad.
MRS JONAS: Don't you want to take your brothers with you?
FRANKIE: We are we going?
JOE: I am going out. You are staying here.
[Joe picked up Frankie and put him on the couch]
FRANKIE: Humph. I'll just ask Kevin to take me out.
[Joe walked out and got into his car. He drove to Pinkberry and called Gabby]
JOE: Hey, it's me.
GABBY: I know a lot of me's, but I think I can guess which one you are.
JOE: [Laughing] Want to meet me here at Pinkberry?
GABBY: You're not grounded anymore?
JOE: Nope, but I do have a curfew.
GABBY: Sure, sure. I'll be there in a few minutes. Don't go anywhere.
JOE: See you.
[Joe only waited 5 minutes before he saw Gabby walk into the store]
JOE: That was quick.
GABBY: I was out shopping a block away.
JOE: Shopping? Again?
GABBY: Yes! And I've got some extra cash. What do you want to order?
JOE: I'll pay.
[Gabby pushed him back into his seat]
GABBY: I said it's my treat.
JOE: Ok, fine.
GABBY: Good, I'll be back in a minute.
[Boy what a long minute that must have been because just as Gabby left him, Sheryll walked in. When she caught sight of him, she didn't avoid him like he thought she would, but she left her manager and went straight to him]

FRANKIE: Joe is mean.
KEVIN: Right now he is, but he's probably just going through a phase.
FRANKIE: A meanie phase?
NICK: [Laughing] Probably.
KEVIN: I wonder who the new girl is.
NICK: [Stops laughing] What new girl?
KEVIN: Joe has a new girlfriend that he won't tell us about.
NICK: What makes you think Joe has a girlfriend?
KEVIN: When he was grounded all he did was stay in his room and talk to someone. You know. You heard him.
FRANKIE: Why wouldn't Joe tell us about her?
NICK: [Looking down, whispering] He probably doesn't want to share this one.
KEVIN: I heard that, Nicholas.
NICK: I'm just saying. Maybe he wants to get to know her more before he introduces her to the family.
KEVIN: No, I bet it's nothing like that.
FRANKIE: What if it's Sheryll?
KEVIN: It's not.
NICK: Yeah, it couldn't be. Cause if it was, she'd spend time at out house like she used to.
KEVIN: Frankie, how would you like to go see Sarah?
FRANKIE: Sarah? Let's get out of here!
NICK: Oh no.
KEVIN: We can pick up Sam too and head to the beach.
FRANKIE: I'm going to beat you to her this time.
[Frankie got up on his tiptoes and tried to look Nick eye-to-eye]

SHERYLL: Joe. Hi.
[She said it so timidly Joe was thrown off for a moment]
JOE: Hey.
SHERYLL: Well...I called your house a while ago. Your phone was off.
JOE: I know.
SHERYLL: Oh... I'm really sorry about the way we left things the other day. I've been feeling really terrible about it.
JOE: It's no problem.
[Sheryll was confused by Joe's attitude and it made her hurt more inside]
SHERYLL: I'm sorry if I've been acting differently lately. I've been stressed and work has me going in all directions.
JOE: I know the feeling.
SHERYLL: I just wanted to tell you that I'm leaving—.
GABBY: Here's your dessert, babe.
[Gabby walked right by Sheryll handing Joe his spoon. Neither of them noticed how Sheryll almost jumped when she saw Gabby. Sheryll had thought she was looking into a mirror for a moment until she looked into Gabby's eyes. They couldn't have been hers]
SHERYLL: Uh, who are you?
GABBY: I'm Gabby, and who are—. O-M-G! Are you Sheryll, the girl whose picture is up in the Ed Hardy store? You are so pretty!
SHERYLL: Thank you, but I thought they took that picture down.
GABBY: Why would they take your picture down?
SHERYLL: [Glancing at Joe] It's... it's a long story.
JOE: We've got time.
SHERYLL: [Looking only at Joe] I'm sorry. I have to go now.
[Sheryll turned around heading for the door]
GABBY: Wait! Can I please have your autograph?
[Sheryll took the pen Gabby was holding out and quickly signed her name on the napkin thrust in front of her]
GABBY: This is awesome!
[Before either Joe or Gabby said goodbye, Sheryll was gone. Gabby took some time to stare at the napkin before she thought of something]
GABBY: Joe?
JOE: Yeah?
[His voice sounded like she had pulled him from a train of thoughts]
GABBY: How do you know her?
